Grand Kids make life Grand Sign!

Grand kids really do make life Grand. I love this saying and even though I do not have grand kids as of yet, My Nephew just found out he is going to be a daddy. My sister is so excited and I am too. We can’t wait to spoil this new baby… and it is a girl! This sign is so cute and such a great idea on how to display all those photos of the ones you love!

Create a sign to display your Grand kids photos

I saw a cute sign with this saying and I knew my sister would love love love it! So I am going to show you how I made this one. So easy and turned out to be so cute. I hope you like it as much as I do.
wood sign
for this sign I found a cute wood pallet plaque by ArtMinds™, 28″ x 11″ x 0.6″ at my local craft store (Michaels), which I got 40% off the price and it only ended up costing just under $9.00. Now that was a good find. I love to save money so this makes me very happy.

Use what you already have

I already had most of items I used for this project. I used some white chalk paint that I bought at Lowe’s a while back for another project that I never ended up using it for. You’ll also want a flat scrapping tool to apply the paint. This is a really cool way to create that aged farmhouse style wood sign. I used the one I already had from some drywall repair. You can view this pin on pinterest.com to see the method I used when painting this sign.

Have fun creating your text

The text was fun to create. If you are lucky enough to have a nice cutting machine like my Cricut Silhouette you can create your text in the Cricut program and cut it out easily using some left over vinyl (which I had purchased on amazonĀ ) you would have laying around. Sick the vinyl to the painted sign and you are ready to paint. There is a cool trick to keep the paint from bleeding that I also found on Pinterest. Mod Podge Waterbase Sealer! Just use this along the edges of the vinyl and you will have nice clean lines. for this project I didn’t use it but I wish I had. Still it turned out pretty good.

Painted sign

The Clips I used were found for a great price on Amazon.com. I looked all over for the right clips and I can honestly say that these were the best find yet. They were the perfect size and kinda cute for a bull nose clip. Just measure and mark the space where you want to attach them. Drill a small hole and screw the clips to the board.
